Year One

Bradley joined Landmarks in September 2023 with a real interest in hospitality and catering. From the start, staff worked with him to build confidence and set clear goals. These included developing his public speaking, building money skills, learning when to ask for help, and practising self-reflection.

He rose to the challenge, making steady progress and achieving his targets on time. Alongside this, Bradley gained valuable qualifications including Entry Level 3 Digital Functional Skills, his Cellar Management Certificate, and a Level 2 Food and Hygiene award.

At The Archer provision, Bradley threw himself into practical experience – serving at the bar, delivering meals, checking in with customers, and working in the kitchen preparing food. He also attended a Greene King open day, where he sampled new menu desserts and cooked his own lunch, showing enthusiasm and a growing confidence throughout the day.

By the end of his first year, Bradley had built up a strong foundation of skills and was ready for his next step – a supported internship.

Year Two

After the summer break, Bradley returned eager to get started. A placement was quickly secured, and during his first meeting with the manager he impressed everyone with his professionalism and thoughtful questions.

Once in placement, Bradley made an excellent start. He completed all his training in record time and, by his second week, was already travelling independently. His colleagues quickly came to respect him as part of the team. Starting out with vegetable prep, Bradley gradually took on more responsibility and now works confidently on the carvery, showing skill and independence.

At his third and final review, Bradley’s efforts were rewarded — he was offered paid employment. This was a huge milestone and a proud moment for Bradley, who has worked hard to prove himself.

Bradley’s journey is a story of confidence, growth, and determination. From learner to valued employee, he has truly carved out a successful future. Well done, Bradley!
