Landmarks Specialist College welcomed employers, learners, families and staff to its annual Employer Awards Evening, at the Archer training pub in Rainworth.
Celebrating the partnerships that continue to create life-changing opportunities for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Held each year, the event recognises the businesses and organisations that support learners through work experience, Supported Internships and employment opportunities, while also celebrating the achievements of learners who have progressed throughout the year.
Guests enjoyed an evening of celebration as awards were presented to employers and learners who have gone above and beyond in helping to build skills, confidence and independence in the workplace.
The evening also highlighted the continued success of Wayfinder WorkConnect, Landmarks’ supported employment service, which works alongside employers to create meaningful opportunities that help learners progress into paid employment.
Supported Intern Shez Bingalow, who is employed by the NHS Hospitals Trust, spoke about the support she had received from Wayfinder, the college and her employer in a heartfelt speech before presenting her manager with a Special Recognition Award.
“I couldn’t have done it without you.”
Wayfinder manager Lisa Rathbone said:
“It’s been fantastic to see so many employers here tonight. The support employers give to our learners is invaluable. By providing opportunities to develop essential employability skills, they are helping them build confidence, gain real-world experience, and, ultimately, secure meaningful employment. We would like to thank each employer for believing in our learners and investing in their futures.”
Landmarks would like to thank every employer who continues to support its learners through placements, internships and employment opportunities. Their commitment helps make a real difference, creating brighter futures and opening doors to lasting careers.
Congratulations to all of this year’s award winners and nominees, and thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a memorable celebration.
