Landmarks Specialist College is pleased to announce that it will be taking on the operation of the Creswell Heritage and Wellbeing Centre later this year.
The move marks an exciting new chapter for the college and the local community, with Landmarks committed to building on everything that already makes the centre such an important part of life in Creswell.
Principal and CEO Larry Brocklesby said:
“Our aim is simple: to protect, strengthen and grow this valuable community resource. The centre will remain a community facility and we are committed to increasing its use by local residents, groups, schools, healthcare partners and community organisations.”
At Landmarks, we support young people with additional needs to build confidence, develop independence, and prepare for adulthood. We believe some of the most meaningful learning happens through real-life experiences and being part of the communities around us.
“As a specialist college for young people with additional needs, we believe the best learning happens through real life experiences. Our learners will have opportunities to support activities within the centre, helping them develop valuable skills for adulthood and employment. All activities will continue to be led by appropriately qualified and experienced staff.”
We’re incredibly excited about what the future holds for the Heritage and Wellbeing Centre and the opportunities this partnership could bring to Creswell.
At Landmarks, we’ve seen first-hand how community spaces can become places where people connect, confidence grows, and new opportunities are created. Through our work at The Archer in Rainworth, learners have gained valuable experience while becoming part of the local community.
We want to build on the fantastic foundations already in place at the Heritage and Wellbeing Centre, working with local residents, community groups and the Parish Council to help it flourish.
“We look forward to working closely with the Parish Council and local residents over the next ten years to ensure the centre becomes an even busier, stronger and more vibrant asset for Creswell.”
For us, success isn’t complicated. It’s seeing more people through the doors, more activities taking place, and more opportunities being created for the whole community.
“the measure of success will be simple: a busier, stronger and more vibrant community facility that serves local residents while creating life-changing opportunities for the learners we support.”
We can’t wait to begin this new chapter and look forward to sharing more details with the community in the months ahead.
