Oliver’s Story

Oliver has reached many heights during his time at Landmarks. Recently he was celebrated at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust public board meeting. Below are also a few other achievements.

When Oliver started at Landmarks, he was quiet, reserved, and nervous in new situations. He wanted to gain employment and was keen to start a work placement. Oliver started, his Supported Internship at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust with the Child Health Department. His tasks included inputting data into their systems and general administration duties.

During the placement Oliver’s communication and confidence grew. He started to ask team members for support and picked up tasks quickly. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a paid role within that department, however another position became vacant within the hospital.

Landmarks supported him for 2 weeks to settle into this role, and within this time he picked up his new tasks well and really impressed the new team. He also undertook travel training and was an independent traveller within two weeks, catching two buses to his place of work.

He secured a part-time paid role as a Clerical Officer within the Outpatient and Support Services department.
